The presentation, “Shadowing Shackleton, Lessons in Leadership,” highlighted the key points of how to be an effective leader for both corporate settings and exploring in the wilderness.
During Mullins visionary tenure, Samaritan experienced tremendous growth and development. The system’s evolution included the establishment of a multi-disciplinary Health Sciences Campus, medical school, hotel with conference center, VA home and several other businesses.
Also a former Marine, Mullins’ combined experience provided staff and community members a wonderful opportunity to learn from an innovative leader in the healthcare field.
At the end of the presentation, Pamela Floyd, Director of Compliance, Risk and Plant Operations, and Doug Shaw, Mad River Community Hospital CEO, presented Larry Mullins with a reproduction of the original poster of Ernest Shackleton’s lecture.
