How to Volunteer
Do you want to make a difference in our community? Becoming an inservice volunteer at Mad River Community Hospital gives you the opportunity to help others in an atmosphere of caring and compassion. As a member of the Volunteers, Inc., your talents, time and smile make a difference in people’s lives.
The Volunteers, Inc., welcomes volunteers aged 14 and older from all backgrounds and experience levels. You don’t need special skills or training to volunteer — all you need is dedication and a little time!
We generally ask that inservice volunteers commit to working one or two four-hour shifts per week. Junior volunteers (those aged 14 to 17) are asked to commit to one afternoon or evening shift per week throughout the academic year. Your role as a volunteer will depend on your interests and the hospital’s needs.
Although most people volunteer to help others, they often find the experience is enriching to themselves. As a volunteer at Mad River Community Hospital, you can:
* Meet new people & make new friends.
* Share your talents & put your skills to work in a useful way.
* Experience a sense of accomplishment.
* Feel the joy of helping others & giving back to your community.
