Hospital Patients able to Vote this Election

HOSPITAL PATIENTS ABLE TO VOTE THIS ELECTION
Arcata, CA- Residents of Humboldt County who are patients at Mad River Community Hospital had the opportunity to vote states, Christie Duray, Volunteers Services Manager.

On Election Day, November 8th, volunteers brought registered patient voters ballots, if they have not previously requested an absentee ballot.

The volunteers visited each patient to let them know they can still vote. If the patient wanted to vote, they signed a release form in order for their ballot to get picked up by the Volunteers Services Manager at the county elections office.

At the county elections office, patient's names were checked to verify that they are registered to vote and have not already voted this year with an absentee ballot or requested one. If someone already requested an absentee ballot, they were unable to vote.

Christie picked up the ballots and voter information packets for each qualified patient and assisted anyone who needed help reading, marking or signing their ballot. The ballots were then delivered to the appropriate election office.
