The Cardiopulmonary Services department provides respiratory support and treatment for newborns to the elderly. The department is comprised of a wonderful group of Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP’s) licensed by the National Board for Respiratory Care and by the State of California. Cardiopulmonary provides breathing treatments (multiple types), ventilator management, patient/nurse education, EKG’s, stress tests, pulmonary function tests, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Cardiopulmonary is the department that responds to all patients who have a hard time breathing (or are not breathing at all) or have chest pain. Our RCP’s provide services to our inpatients on the Intensive Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Unit, Birth Center (moms and babies), Emergency Department, Surgery (Recovery Room), and more. They are a vital part of the "code team," which responds to patients in respiratory or cardiac distress. There is always a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the hospital.
We also provide outpatient services through our pulmonary rehabilitation program.
